Alois Lageder

Alois Lageder is a synonym for the highest standard of quality in viticulture and winemaking, for a sustainable, holistic corporate philosophy, and for a wide spectrum of cultural and artistic activities. Founded in 1823, and now directed by Alois Lageder, representing the fifth generation of family ownership, our winery combines tradition and innovation. Our wines are divided into two assortment groups: Tenuta Lageder and Alois Lageder.


Riff Pinot Grigio (Pinot Grigio delle Venezie IGT)

Grapes from selected Vineyards in the Tre Venezie region (Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige)

Brilliant straw-yellow color with a green tint. Fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aromas. Pronounced, clean, elegant, grapey flavor. Light to medium-bodied with a fresh mouth-watering finish. Dry and crisp.

Properly cellared, this wine can keep for at least 2 to 3 years.

Winemaking: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on the fine lees for up to four months to give the wine greater textural intensity and depth.

Riff Cabernet Merlot (Vigneti delle Dolomiti Rosso IGT)

Grapes from selected vineyard sites in the South of the Alto Adige and the northern part of the Trentino appellation. The main portion of the grapes are purchased from contracted grape growers. Fruit driven in both aroma and flavour. Medium-bodied, with good intensity and depth on the palate though elegant. Harmonious. Balanced with ripe, well integrated tannins and mild acidity. Clear reference in style and character to its origin.

Winemaking: fermentation and extended maceration in stainless steel tanks for 12 days. Matured in large casks (Slavonian oak) for 8 months.

Alois Lageder Pinot Bianco 2011 (Alto Adige DOC)

Selected vineyard sites in the southern part of the Alto Adige (Salorno, Magre and Pochi) area and most northern part of the Trentino area, at an altitude of 200 to 300 metres (660 - 980 feet); sandy and stony soil; quite cool mesoclimate with big variations between day and night temperatures. Brilliant straw yellow colour with a green tint. Very fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aroma. Pronounced, clean, elegant, grapey flavour, light to medium-bodied with a fresh mouth-watering finish. When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 2 - 4 years.

Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio 2011 (Vigneti Delle Dolomiti IGT )

Vineyards in Magre, Salorno and the northern part of Trentino. Sandy and gravely soil with a high content of limestone. Quite warm mesoclimate with big variations between day and night temperatures. Brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer. Quite pronounced and expressive aroma with flowery and somewhat spicy notes. Rich flavoured in the mouth, with a slight smokiness at the back and a good, fresh finish. When properly cellared, this will drink well for 2 to 4 years.

Alois Lageder Lagrein 2010 (Alto Adige DOC)

Vineyards in the Bolzano area along the Talvera river at an altitude of 230 to 330 meters (750 - 1,080). Deep and rich alluvial soils. Very warm mesoclimate. Medium garnet colour with ruby hints. Rich, quite pronounced, spicy aroma with a chocolate character, floral impressions (violets), red fruit and prunes. Soft, smooth fruit, full-bodied. Masculine style. Firm, dry and somewhat earthy finish. When stored under proper conditions, this wine will drink well for at least 6 to 8 years.

Alois Lageder Pinot Noir 2010 (Alto Adige DOC)

Different vineyards in the Mazzon area above the village of Egna at an altitude of 300 to 450 meters (980 - 1,500 feet). Sandy, chalky and loamy soils. Quite cool macroclimate. Medium ruby colour with a garnet shimmer. Clean, uplifted somewhat earthy varietal aroma: notes of red fruit, cherries and some spiciness. Fruity, mild flavour, medium-bodied. Fresh finish with good length. Elegant style. This wine will drink well, when cellared under proper conditions, for at least 3 to 5 years.

Alois Lageder Vogelmaier Moscato Giallo 2011 (Alto Adige DOC)

Vogelmaier vineyard on the northwest side of Lake Caldaro at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres (990 - 1,150 feet). Sandy, gravely and partly loamy soils; warm microclimate. Bright straw-yellow colour with green reflections. Fresh, clean aroma; quite pronounced floral notes and impressions of subtropical fruit. Medium-bodied, vinous with a harmonious flavour, dry. Good fresh, quite intense, long lasting aftertaste. When properly cellared, this wine will may be kept for at least 3 to 5 years.

Alois Lageder Haberle Pinot Bianco 2011

Haberlehof estate vineyard above Salorno at an altitude of 480 to 520 metres (1,500 - 1,710 feet). Stony and sandy soil. Rather cool mesoclimate with important day and night temperature variations. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with a green shimmer. Very fine, fruity (apples, peaches), uplifted varietal aroma combined with very well integrated oak spice on the nose. Clean, elegant, grapey flavour, medium-bodied with a round and fresh mouth-watering finish. When cellared well, this wine may be kept for 3 to 5 years.

Tenuta Lageder Gaun Chardonnay 2011 (Alto Adige DOC)

Gaun vineyard, a part of the Lowengang estate, located on the scree of Magre at an altitude of 230 to 250 meters (750 - 820 feet) with exposure to the south-east. Soils are sandy and gravely. Warm mesoclimate with important contrast between warm days and cool nights. a substantial Chardonnay, party fermented and ripened in small wooden casks. The grapes are grown in the Gaun vineyards on the Magre moraine. Golden-yellow color with greenish overtones. Rich, complex aroma with delicate, light, buttery nose and notes of ripe tropical fruits. Full, vigorous and yet elegant taste. Harmonious, fresh, lingering finish.

Tenuta Lageder Porer Pinot Grigio 2011 (Alto Adige DOC)

Porer vineyard located on the scree of Magre at an altitude of 230 to 240 metres (750 - 790 feet). Soils are sandy and gravely with a very high limestone content. Warm mesoclimate. brilliant straw-yellow colour with a green shimmer. Very aromatic, opulent, uplifted varietal aroma paired with pronounced mineral notes. Clean, grapey, full-bodied flavour, quite soft and creamy, refined and with a fresh finish. Remarkably long and aromatic on the palate. Under proper storage conditions, this wine may be cellared for 4 to 6 years.

Tenuta Lageder Beta Delta Lagrein Merlot 2010 (Alto Adige DOC)

Selected vineyard parcels located on the scree of Magre at an altitude of 230 to 320 meters (750 - 1,050 feet). Dry, sandy, gravely soil with a high limestone content. Other sites have a medium heavy soil structure. Warm mesoclimate with big variations between day and night temperatures. Purple colour with garnet hints. Quite pronounced fruity aroma with notes of red and black berries, paired with floral, mineral and spicy nuances (black pepper). Medium to full-bodied, good intensity on the palate, balanced, with present ripe tannin. Good length. Drink between 2012 - 2017.

Tenuta Lageder Am Sand Gewurztraminer 2011 (Alto Adige DOC)

Am Sand vineyard near Magre and Termeno at an altitude of 240 - 370 metres (780 - 1200 feet). Soils are sandy, gravelly and chalky. Warm mesoclimate with big variations between day and night temperatures. Brilliant, straw-yellow colour with light orange reflections. Pronounced, complex aroma showing obvious late harvest characteristics (botrytis). Notes of ripe tropical fruit combined with floral and herbal undertones and an elegant touch of citrus fruit. Full-bodied, vinous with a grapey flavour, dry. Long, fresh aftertaste with a characteristic delicate bitter twist. When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 3 to 5 years.

Tenuta Lageder Lowengang Chardonnay 2009 (Alto Adige DOC)

Brilliant, gold yellow colour with a green shimmer. Very rich, complex, still quite closed aroma. Burgundian style with a delicate creaminess, some toasty oak and ripe tropical fruit. Touches of vanilla and roasted almonds. Quite rich, well structured though elegant flavour, harmonious, with a pungent, fresh acidity to match the depth of the fruit and the oaky backbone. Under proper storage conditions, this wine‘s aging potential is at least 6 to 8 years.

Tenuta Lageder Lindenburg Lagrein 2008 (Alto Adige DOC)

Lindenburg vineyard in Bolzano along the Talvera river at an altitude of 280 meters (920 feet). Deep and rich alluvial soil. Very warm mesoclimate. Medium cherry-red colour. Pronounced, fruity (prune, cherry) and spicy aroma with notes of leather, tar, dark chocolate and floral nuances (violets), along with oak spice. Medium structure and with good fruit intensity on the palate. The tannins are present though balanced. Good length with an earthy aftertaste. When cellared under proper conditions, this wine may be kept for 8 to 10 years.

TenutaLageder MCM Melrot 2009

Punggl vineyard south of Magre at an altitude of 230 metres (750 feet). Soil is sandy, gravelly and chalky. Very warm mesoclimate. deep, intense cherry-red colour with ruby tints. Pronounced, complex aroma with concentrated fruity notes (red and black berries), delicate spice impressions (juniper, liquorice) combined with elegant oak. Quite powerful and rich on the palate.Long lasting with a fresh aftertaste and well balanced tannins. When stored properly, this wine will drink well for at least 4 to 8 years.

TenutaLageder Cor Romigberg Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 (Alto Adige DOC)

Romigberg estate vineyard on lake Caldaro with exposure to the south and south/east, at an altitude of 245 metres (800 feet); sandy, chalky and loamy soil. Very warm mesoclimate, the central part of the Romigberg vineyard has been replanted in 1986 with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot vines at high density using the Guyot trellising system. very deep, intense cherry-red colour; pronounced, complex aroma, fruity and spicy, with floral notes, combined with elegant oak spice; quite powerful and rich on the palate, with an intense, strong taste and a long lasting fresh and fruity aftertaste; the tannins are rather strong though well balanced with the sweetness of the wine’s fruit structure. Long maturation potential of 8 to 10 years.
