Oakridge Wines has been capturing the spirit of the Yarra Valley for more than three decades. Established near Seville in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, Oakridge Wines began as a family company. A pioneer of the Upper Yarra Valley, Oakridge recognised the potential for making great wine on the rich, red, volcanic soils of the sub-region. The turn of the century saw Oakridge move to its location in Coldstream, and become a part of one of Australia’s larger wine companies. In recent times, Oakridge once again returned to family ownership.

Over The Shoulder Chardonnay
Over The Shoulder Chardonnay 2011

Light straw with green hues in colour. Bright, pure chardonnay fruit - green melon, nectarine, wet stones and snow pea. The palate is surprisingly creamy to taste, with a core of melon, stone fruit, butter-cake and more river stones. It finishes with a strong citrus line, and has a lightness and delicacy without lacking flavor or depth.

Over The Shoulder Pinot Grigio 2011

Very pale straw in colour. Hay, bosc pears, tea cake, flint and light jasmine floral sit over a bed of citrus peel and green apple. The palate is direct; linear and refreshing. Straw, lemon and lime pith adding texture over pears and white flowers and bound by a tangy, saline line of acidity. Juicy and mouth-watering.

Over The Shoulder Pinot Noir 2011

Dark bright reds. Summer pudding nose - cherry, wild strawberry and red currants with the faintest hint of vanilla pod. The palate is juicy, sappy and laced with red fruit and black cherries, adding flesh but brought back into line with twiggy tang of whole bunch sinew. Overall the impression is of a bright, juicy Beaujo-esque wine that is both easy to drink and refreshing at the same time

Local Vineyard Series Lusatia Park Vineyard Chardonnay 2011

This wine was sourced from the north facing Lusatia Park vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock. A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine - hand picking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation and a 10 month maturation on lees.

Local Vineyard Series Syme Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

Very pale, bronzing reds. Lifted redcurrants, raspberries, red cherries, leaf and twigs. Complex rather than fruit based aromatically, however the palate is soft, round and doughy initially, with more fragrant red fruit, sous bois and leaf wrapped up in silky tannins, before correcting its line on smoky whole bunch spiciness.

864 J&J D’Aloisio Vineyard Chardonnay - Charlie’s Block 2011

Pale straw with bright green hues in colour. Opens with strong citrus, white stone fruit, white flowers and hints of praline. The palate is full, expansive and rich - grapefruit, nectarine, flint and white flowers moving along a taught and tangy line of citrus acidity. A changing and complex wine of depth and concentration that with time in the glass reveals perfumed musk, lemon curd plus whisps of smoke and spent matchsticks.
