Gravel Pit Red Merlot Malbec (Hawkes Bay)
Fermented in stainless steel then matured for 14 months in French oak, this predominately Merlot and Malbec blend has an opaque core colour with a vibrant garnet rim. This wine is aromatically profuse with dollops of black doris plum and blackberry, laced with cedar, dark chocolate and thyme. The palate is thick with fine soft tannins that meld with abundant, ripe fruit. Elevation
The typically hot summers and long autumns of Marlborough ensure grapes always get plenty of sun, and when combined with cool mornings, Marlborough produces beautifully balanced, fresh wines. Matured for 3 months in old French oak, this Sauvignon Blanc is pale straw in color with bright herbaceous, tropical fruit and white peach notes on the nose with a hint of spice and flowers. Cupids Arrow Central Otago, the world’s most southerly wine region is making a name for itself as a hot spot for Pinot Noir. The climate and soils are perfect to produce fantastic Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir is the grape variety that evokes the most passion and feeling amongst wine drinkers and this wine is called Cupids Arrow because, “like love, once you become taken with Pinot it is impossible to ignore. Cupid has struck you with an arrow and made you a Pinotphile”. Using the newest available clones from Dijon, France, this dense ruby red in color Pinot Noir has red berry and black cherry fruits mixed with wild herb and floral characters. The palate is complex and supple with red berry, plum-stone, cherry fruit characters and floral notes.
