Côtes du Rhône Village

Perrin Cairanne
Perrin Cairanne

This vineyard is right in the heart of the Cairanne area, to the south-west of the village, between Rasteau and Sainte Cecile les Vignes. The soil of the vineyard consists of poor clay and gravel terraced soils together with sandy molasses. A traditional winemaking approach is used with stainless-steel tanks after crushing and pumping-over carried out twice a day. The wine is aged for a further 6 months in bottles before shipping. It has a bright red hue and the nose is expressive of very ripe fruit. On the palate it appears rich and full-bodied, with silky tannins and good length and balance.

Tavel is situated in the province of Gard, on the right bank of the Rhone River. A great Rose district, it is also know as the Grand Cru of Rose. The sedimentary soil, mixed with rolled pebbles and crumbling rocks is very similar to the clayey-calcareous soil of Chateauneuf du Pape. This Rose, made using the Saignee method, is aged in 100 hectoliter stainless-steel tanks, before filtering and bottling in February. The color changes from cherry blossom to a ruby color. The aroma of ripe fruit and licorice is very distinguishing and one can enjoy a rich fruitiness and deep palate with this firmly structured wine.
